You spent allot of time and money getting your M.B.A. so it’s understandable that you want to let everyone know of your achievement - but your Business Card isn’t the right place. “I wouldn’t recommend it to our students,” says Joyce Rothenberg, director of the career management center at Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management in Tennessee. “While an important professional degree, it is not like a certification or a license.”
What’s more, listing the M.B.A. can actually work against you, “When we see it, it signals to us that the person might not be running around in highly professional circles,” says Lisa Steele, a director at the Capstone Partnership, an executive-search firm in New York, and an M.B.A. graduate herself. “If you have a strong professional and academic track record, the M.B.A. will speak for itself — no reason to broadcast it to the world.”

Very nice (short) article on M.B.A.’s. I think the golden rule goes for most degree’s really. Hands on has always received a higher respect & authoritarian rate than flashing a piece of paper around.
While a M.B.A. degree shows some viable background support, it says nothing for the individuals actual work ethics. I can also see the backfiring of flashing the M.B.A. as to draw attention to ones self. To me it clearly states: HEY, look at me, I’m trying to make a name for myself.
At any rate, good read!
